Table Top Backloop
Inspired by winging
Balz Müller performed this table top backloop in a heat at the freestyle world cup in Fuerteventura. The trick is inspired by wingfoiling, where there is the Table Frontside 360, which is quite similar in terms of movement. Balz is at the very top in both sports - so what could be more obvious than transferring moves to the other sport?
The table top is not performed very extreme and is more like a donkey kick. The board is turned upside down during the first phase of the jump. As with a normal backloop, the jump is performed into the wind (upwind direction).
At the apex, the legs pull the board back again, as the nose of the board must point downwards for the landing approach. It is also important to look over your shoulder at the spot where you want to land with the board - the body movement follows the direction of your view.
You can see how Balz performs this jump in the slow-motion video.
