Lift up your sail

Lift up your sail

Category: Beginner
Level of difficulty: Level 1 (from 6)

Description

To get started with windsurfing, you first have to lift the sail out of the water. Standing on the board with your back to the wind, the sail is lifted out of the water.

The board floats in the water at right angles to the wind on a crosswind course. The sail is downwind, with the mast pointing away from the board at 90 degrees.

The feet are positioned to the right and left of the mast base. Then pull the sail out of the water with the uphaul rope.

If the board is not aligned correctly, you can turn the board by pulling on the uphaul rope and applying different loads to the front or rear foot.

These tutorials shows you how to uphaul the sail.
