Description

The heli tack is a tack in which the sail is rotated upwind. Because of this sail rotation, the maneuver is also called a helicopter tack.

After starting to to go upwind, the sail is pushed into the wind with the mast and held back until the board is on the new course. Then let the sail rotate through the wind with the clew, change the foot position and then pick up speed again in the new direction.
