Frontside Cutback - one handed
Alternative name: Cutback - one handed, One Handed Cutback, One Handed Frontside Cutback
Category: Waves
Level of difficulty: Level 6 (from 6)
Special characteristics:
- one handed trick
Description
There are two ways to perform the one-handed frontside cutback. The front or rear hand can be removed from the boom when turning at the lip of the wave.
In variant one, the rear hand reaches further into the middle of the boom to be able to keep the pull of the rig in balance with one hand.
In variant two, the front hand grips the boom approximately at the position in front of the front harness line attachment, while the rear hand releases the boom. The rig swings through 90 degrees. In a counterbalancing movement, the rear arm is extended and the body’s center of gravity is shifted backwards.
