Switch Kono

Lisa Kloster shows the switch kono

The switch kono is jumped in switch stance and with the sail held back. There are two ways to get into this riding position.

(1) Either you change the stance and then duck the sail...

(2) ... or you can initiate a carving 360 and after the first half you are in exactly this position on the board - as if you were doing a power jibe and staying in the foot straps.

Continue as Lisa Kloster shows here: luff slightly and build up power with your back hand. Use the power of the rising sail for the jump - load the tail and jump high, compress your body.

The mast swings in the direction of travel, power in the sail builds up and you land fakie (tail first). Shift your weight towards the base of the mast and as soon as the board stops, simply continue to ride in the other direction.
