Spinloop
Fast rotation on flatwater
Sarah-Quita Offringa performs the spinloop. She uses the chop on flatwater for the jump. Pay attention to the simultaneous body movement. Squat your legs before the jump and then stretch them to generate the necessary lift for height and rotation.
Pushing the legs causes the nose of the board to rise and initiates a movement that resembles a pike jump on a downwind course. Then roll your body in, tighten your legs and close your back hand - as if you want to jump back-first in the direction of travel.
With the rotation initiated in this way, you are quickly back under the sail. Initially, this usually ends with a spinloop that is only 3/4 complete - but it doesn't matter, because you can then continue with the water start from this position.
The higher you jump and the faster you rotate, the more likely you are to jump the spinloop wet into the water start, dry into the standing position, or even into planing.
