Pushloop

Slow Motion Clip with Malte Kuny

The pushloop is a jumped backward rotation in windsurfing in which the body - in contrast to the backloop - is at the highest point of the jump above the sail. The key is to initiate the rotation in a controlled manner (without jumping an over-rotated backloop). Tighten your mast arm and legs, stretch your sailing hand and look in the direction of the landing. The body movement intuitively follows the view.

The second part of the pushloop is similar to a shove it. If you can do this move in one direction, you should start practicing the pushloop on the same course.

Pay attention to the position of the mast in the video. It points to leeward (the base of the mast into the wind) when the rotation is initiated. This allows the sail to be rotated in a controlled manner and pushed under the body.
