Push Tack
Manuel Vogel shows the push tack
With the push tack, the sail is pushed against the wind when riding upwind. The foot position is changed and the previously rear foot is moved forward in a wide step past the leeward side of the mast.
The clew is then pushed through the wind as you continue to luff and then this clew-first sail position is stabilized. Now just shift and continue on the new course.
