Backloop

Klaus Twilling shows the technique for the backloop

The backloop in slow motion and mirrored for both jumping directions. It is important to jump as high as possible into the wind, i.e. not directly into a backward rotation, as is often the case with beginners. In the video you can see the slight curve to the upwind direction as a trace in the water.

Klaus has the following tips for you: "Jump slightly into the wind on take-off, do not rotate, stay compact on the climb - hips to the boom (not quite optimal here in the video). At the highest point, look over your shoulder, aim for the landing point and - super, super important - reach far back with your back hand on the boom. This gives you control during the landing approach. The best way to land is in downwind direction."
