Nuvo

A mix of switch stance gecko and matador

13-year-old Cheppi from Bonaire shows off his new gecko combination here. He calls the move 'Nuvo'.

When Cheppi was talking to Taty Frans about the spock - matador, he suddenly had the idea of combining a switch gecko with a matador.

The move is not so easy to perfom, but you should try it out in light winds...

And this is how it works:
The gecko must be initiated in switch stance. When you turn into the wind, the rear hand on the boom slides forward. The former mast hand lets go and you end upo whit the sail in your back.

To keep the board turning through the wind, you must push the mast forward/windward with an outstretched arm. When the clew goes through the wind, release the rear hand again and continue in the switch position.
